Kezia Barnett for All Your Wants and Needs Fulfilled Forever

Kezia Barnett looks at the world and sees beauty in the mundane, simplicity in the wreckage. Daily life becomes a cinematic unravelling.

Documenting her surroundings with a probing and honest sensibility, she has been the subject of a daily photo, and sometimes more than one, for nearly 20 years. Alongside these photographs, in parallel, are photographs of settings and situations, of people she comes into contact with: her observations of the everyday. Her work is deftly confident, beholding place and narrative … characters in tangled space … scenes folding in upon one another … she takes it all in.

She is an accomplished director and her first commercial was featured in the Saatchi & Saatchi Young Directors showcase and picked up best commercial at the L.A. Shorts Fest. She followed this by nabbing Young Director of the Year at The Kodak Gongs, Sydney.

Kezia has gone on to win numerous awards, including winning Golds at the Asia Pacific Advertising Festival, D&AD and being awarded at The One Show and AWARD. She has also been a Cannes Lions Finalist. Her short films and music videos have also had their fair share of accolades and festival screenings and we are very pleased to show some of her work.

Coco Campbell for Not Psycho

Coco Campbell’s work is striking in its reference to Hollywood film noir. The greyscale tones, typically narrower than modern B&W scopes, takes you straight to another time and place. The light alone screams motel room after the fact, and faces telling a prototypal story as dark as your imagination. Graduating from Parsons in New York Coco has a technical and creative bent for cinematic portraiture which nods towards conceptual portrait artist Cindy Sherman, suburban family documentary and portrait artist Larry Sultan….. Just like the play ‘Not Psycho’, Coco’s works are more ‘provocative than perfect’ *… which we thought characterizes the human condition in all its majestic glory. * Theatre Review Vanessa Byrnes, 16 Aug 2015

Stephen Langdon for The Disappearance of My Friend, Jack Harnett

Stephen Langdon is a New Zealand born photographer who divides his time between New Zealand and Australia shooting both moving and stills imagery. Stephen’s dedication to creating unique imagery with clever composition and a rich cinematic feel has gained him numerous international awards including multiple Caanz Lions & Axis medals, One Show and D&AD pencils, New York Festivals, Caples, CLIO and International Echo along with being ranked online in the top worldwide photographers on Leurzer’s Archive. We loved his response to ‘The Disappearance of My Friend, Jack Harnett’, which was chilling to say the least!
